Hello! And thanks for browsing my gallery! I’m Emmy Ludwig (sometimes
better known as Emmalynne in certain crafting circles), a photographer from the suburbs of Philadelphia, now located in Southern Oregon. I received my BA in
Photography and Digital Art from Lycoming College in 2002, and was
awarded the B&S Gallery Award for Excellence in 2-Dimensional Art.
Since then I have received awards in several smaller photo
competitions, and in 2008 had my Seasons series published in the July
issue of Shambhala Sun.
I enjoy working with most forms of photography from polaroid and film to digital but, especially love the more traditional formats. I love alternative processes and try to experiment and learn new things as often as I can.
My work focuses on the everyday… the things you may not notice at first; the things you may take for granted and miss the beauty within. I love anything vintage or antique, anything that inspires a feeling of nostalgia. My favorite moments are when customers tell me a certain photo reminds them of their mother or grandmother, that they remember having that item in their house. Sometimes they don’t even need to put the feeling they have into words, they just can’t hide the smile in their eyes.
